The River of Turns

The Wakamow Valley Authority acknowledges that we are on the traditional lands of the Treaty 4 Territory, a treaty signed with 35 nations across Southern Saskatchewan and parts of Alberta and Manitoba, on the original lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and homeland of the Metis Nation. The Wakamow Valley Authority is committed to continued cooperation and reconciliation; to provide a place of understanding where all Treaty peoples are welcome.

A Park for All Seasons

Wakamow Valley is an urban park located in the heart of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on Treaty 4 Land. The park itself spans over 500 acres, and includes over 20 km of trails.

Regardless of the season, there is always something to do. In winter you can come out and experience skating on the Oval, cross country skiing and snowshoeing; in the summer there’s camping, and canoeing or kayaking. If you’re looking for something to do year-round why not take a walk along the Maryland and Kinsmen Trail to discover our bird sanctuary or try out disc golf.

Within the grounds are four public pavilions, gazebos and a sun shelter – each of these are available for rental for private functions. There are also four playgrounds, which includes a wheelchair accessible area, an ecological zone with four different ecosystems and a a 54-site campground!

The Valley is a 10-minute walk from the historic downtown Moose Jaw, and offers a peaceful haven for locals and tourists alike.

Wakamow Valley has a number of park areas, pavilions and indoor facilities which provide the perfect meeting place for families and friends.

There are many activities to enjoy in the valley whatever the season to help you achieve a healthy work/life balance.

Lorne Calvert Campground

The seasonal campground, open from May to October, is situated at the heart of Wakamow Valley a few minutes from downtown Moose Jaw.
